Homosexuals don't necessarily want to be the opposite gender they just prefer a person of the same gender as a sexual partner. Transgender people may be hetero, homo, or bi while desiring to be the opposite from their birth gender.
I understand your feelings. As a boy I wished I had been a girl and could dress up in pretty clothes and wear long hair and I was told once that I could "come back (after death) as a girl." Hey, guys. I too feel this way. Ever since I was a little kid I always wanted to be a girl. They just seemed to have more fun and freedom. But it does seem that being a guy you could easily get caught up in the "physical" aspect of being a woman. There is a trade off for every difference that we ourselves impose on us.
