Lets say that this happened in your lifetime. For what ever reason, there isn't enough livable space on Earth for everyone, but they found another inhabitable planet, and will ship volunteers for free to begin settling it. Would you volunteer?

Depending on how you look at it, it is the same if not better. Same as far as the climate/conditions go. Better if you think of it as a fresh new beautiful planet, that man hasn't destroyed too much or put buildings all over the scenery yet. And I'm going to go ahead and put some conditions on the volunteers, and say that they all must pass a background check, so that only good, nice people can come to settle this wonderful new planet, and marijuana will be legal.
Interesting question; I guess it'd depend on the culture, climate, and what kind of people are there. I don't know if I could adapt to a totally different culture. I'd want to live somewhere where it's warm year round, and live near people I get along with. And I'd want there to be internet connection of course.
No crap, never will there be too little space on earth, nor will they send [a lot] of people to another planet to live (I read they are going to send 4 people every 2 years to mars to live, but idk how those people can live without killing themselves, which is already one of their main concerns, and you must pass an extensive psych evaluation to go). This is purely hypothetical.
If I get a yacht, several Mercedeses, a BMW 650 and a house there - YES!
Maybe, not quite sure really. I love the places we got on Earth, but I do find other worlds interesting.
So I would live there for the summer or winter :D
The rest of the time I'll be back on earth
I like earth. However some of the people here are not very bright. I do want to move but I dont know what new things live on the other planet. The new planet would not yet be made to suit the needs of humans. So I guess it would be like wanting to go live in the Amazon. Not sure if I would want to risk it till I know what parasites, creatures, plants, animals, diseases and insects inhabit the new world. Also which kind of people are living on the planet.
Well, NASA had already built an inhabitable place in the planet Mars. They also have plans to send four people there every two years, but, once you're there, you can never go back to earth!

What kind of indigenous life are we dealing with here? Same type of deal as Earth or monstrous creatures that have been given billions of years to develop past what those on Earth have?

Hmm no I think it would be a cop out. I'd like to try and improve this planet the best I can. People have lost their way and society is sick and corrupt. But I know I can make a difference I just got to keep believing. I love the earth it is my home.
What if, er, 'non-whites' (whites does not need capitalising) had discovered the planet? Would you go? Or be welcome?

And as "White" specifically refers to the White race, in this case, yes, it should be capitalized.
Most likely the Chinese will be winning the 'space race' soon, and it will be them who find the next habitable planet.
Oh, you mean like how there's a Black and Yellow race but no Brown one cause there's more than one brown race (few are less related than Indian (US) and Indian (Asia)..) I love white people! Jews are my favorite! Force me to marry a Jewish "5" and I'll die happy.
