If all the areas speaking same language teamed up and had a war whowin

What would happen if all the areas in the world was split into everyone who knew the same language. These people would team up and everyone would go to war with their respective language. Also yes I know US does not have an official language but most people speak English so they count as English. So England(isles), Canada, US, Australia. However I think half of Canada would be split to team up with France. So what language do you think will win.

The majority of North America and all of Australia could just kick back while Europe, Asia, South America and Africa fight within themselves too! We'd only have to deal with whoever happened to be left over from each continent.

You guys are practically surrounded by foreign speakers! I think we'll let you fight your own battle over there, we can't risk helping you out. We need our men here to defend us. Maybe Australia will help you.

Well, I'm going with English. Not only do we have massive forces and production capabilities to begin with, but huge amounts of people speak English as a second language. Can they be spies or double agents?

Also, the US has a moderately justified stereotype of being gun-crazy. Need I say more?

    • No they can not so that. They have to speak it as a first not second language. Otherwise it defeats the whole purpose. I do not think they are gun crazy. I just think they have a lot of rednecks.

Darn. I was hoping that would work. I still say English would win this though.

I think the gun crazy stereotype is deserved. 88 guns per one hundred people, not including the military.

What about the Koreans? Everyone is afraid N. Korea will soon be a major threat. They could have WMDs that we don't know about. They also have almost 10mil grunts in their military. All of the main English speaking countries can only total 3.5mil heads and 3mil of that is from the U.S..

South Korea has another 8.5mil grunts so if by some miracle those two actually got along, they could dominate the eastern countries. Easily.

Sure, those numbers are including their reserves but they're still military trained for at least 2 years.

Since we're suggesting these two countries would be getting along for the sake of language, I'd say they'd be the dominant force unless someone could explain to me otherwise.

Everything you said there, worries me. It is true, could you imagaine an united Korea? They'd take over the world. China frightens me though.

If anything, I think China and Korea would go at it first since they're so close together. I predict Korea taking over China and possibly taking all of their citizens and adding to their already enormous army.

It is scary. I do wonder if N. Korea wants to be a super power or if they just want to be alone and fortified.

I don't think a united Korea would win over China.

China is huge, with a population of 1.3 billion compared to S and N Korea's combined 75 million, and has the largest army of active personnel in the world (2,285,000 compared to S and N Korea's combined 1.7 million) with 800,000 reserve personnel. They also have the second largest military budget in the world as well as a sizeable arsenal of high-tech weaponry.

I don't see a united Korea being capable of occupying China, unless in this hypothetical reunification of Korea their population grows substantially as does their economy and military presence.

Explanation: they still don't have the ability to actually send any possible WMD's anywhere. They have failed everytime. Also, a whole bunch of grunts in an army isn't really that impressive. Japan and Korea in both WWII and the Korean War had staggering amounts of forces and yet look at what happened.

      Not sure it's that intelligent.

I mean, it's a random 'who would win in a fight between...' question. The probability of the world splitting into language groups to fight a huge war against each other is minute, so it's not even a realistic circumstance to consider. It's like asking "Who would win in a war between people who eat rice every day and people who eat pasta every day?" I don't really see this as an intelligent discussion. Entertaining nonetheless.

I don't mean to suck smoke out of OP's skirt :P
