If i didn't have an anxiety disorder would i look better?

Basically over time I have lost my youthful look due to life stress
I am now 27 and f.
I have those smile lines now I'm not sure how to look good again, seems I probably lost collegen.
If I didn't have an anxiety disorder for most my life, would my face look more plump and would I not be as skinny as I am?

You probably don’t look as old as you think you do.

I have a lot of anxiety and I don't even have any fine lines yet and I'm older than you. I have a baby face like Grimes but mine is probably mostly genetics.

It's probably not anxiety related just use sunscreen if you go out a lot and don't smoke, eat healthy etc.

    • Interesting!! I have a baby face and most people say I look around age 20 but I still personally notice the break down of my face :(

  • if you have an anxiety disorder, you're probably making a bigger deal over your perceived defects than is warranted.

Fully possible. Your lifestyle and health status, maybe including your mental health can affect your looks. Some foods like chicken and fish can add collagen

I was once told that the late 20's and early 30's is when collagen starts to noticeably disappear on people. What you're describing seems pretty normal and nothing to really worry about.

  • I feel the same sometimes but when I do it's usually just extra bad days with extra bad sleep. Take care of your skin.
I have no skin care routine really but I wash my face with mild face soap, moisturize twice a day and use anti-aging sunscreen all year around.
Diet is important. Avoid too much sugar and alcohol and of course, don't smoke. And there's facial exercises too, you can google them. My mom did them when she was young and she has almost no wrinkles... So those definietely work...

Actually increased levels of stress promote the release of chemicals like cortisol which over a long period of time can definitely take a toll on your physical health.

There are so many people that have the disorder, and none of them look ugly. I know some of them. It's just her, not the anxiety disorder.

You can't always tell if someone has an anxiety disorder, some people that have generalized anxiety disorder don't always show it.

I'm not saying that having an anxiety disorder will definitely make you age faster or that it's the case for her. But it can happen because stress does play a role in early aging, especially over a very prolonged period of time.

            • I guess depends on genetics and their age
