Back in 2017 I bought a 2012 Nissan Versa Note. I paid it off in July 2020.

A month after I pay it off, a tree falls on it. The car is totalled.

I buy another car a month later. A 2015 Nissan Versa Note. I pay it off in may 2021.

Three months after I pay it off, a driver hits my car and leaves the scene. The car is totalled. Fun fact: a dashboard camera does nothing if the car has no VIN, licence plate, or any other identifiers on it.

Two months later I buy the car I'm driving now. It's a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage.

I paid it off in December. So far, nothing has killed it yet. I hope it stays that way. I'm paranoid as fuck. I hope the month of August is good to me this time. XD

This is why I just buy used cars on craigslist. You can get a pretty decent car for $2500 and a nice one for $5000. Wwhen I was poor id drive around in $800 dollar cars

My dad found a 1994 lincoln town car and a 1995 lexus for $500 each from shopping online and the lincoln barely had any miles on it and went a surprisingly long time before needing any repairs.

I got a 2001 chevy impala (the one with the really good engine) with 60,000 miles and brand new tires for $2500 in 2017. It had brand new tires havent even changed them yet. It was owned by a grandma.

You seem to be the only example I've seen of a person that actually had good luck with cars on Craigslist. Everyone I knew that bought cars online got ripped off. I was too scared to take that risk after seeing them spend way more money than they wanted to.

Probably because the salt up there in the winter destroys older cars. Down here the rust isnt a big problem unless the car is from the 80s or something. I check for rust and other things really well I hook up a reader to the car to see if the codes come up are normal and if something seems off I get my dad to check it out he knows alot about cars. Worst ive ever gotten screwed was I bought a 1985 toyota pickup truck fpr $1200 a few years ago and months later I suspect the timing belt broke. But I sold it for $600 even tho it wouldnt run.

I got absolutely sauced last night and wandered over to my neighbors. It was pretty much a block party. But we’re the only white people on our street. So I’m pretty sure everyone thinks I’m crazy now. Which is fine. I also feed stray cats. Fucking white people.
