If i was turning 18 soon..what would i be looking forward too?

Is it normal to look forward to turning 18?
ahem! Because I didn't when I was a young whipper snapper
and is it any different socially or a mental thing or just that people treat you different etc?

You'll no longer be a little bud, but you'll blossom into a fully grown flower. There are many responsibilities you'll have to take on, but you'll also gain new "privileges" like going to a brothel and being a "legal" member in our quirky community:D

For me, it meant that I went from being someone's property to becoming a person. Because that's technically what children are, someone else decides who they are and what they do and what they can own, say or where they can go.

But when I turned 18, I became my own person. Whether or not I obeyed my parents, whether or not I left and never came back, was my decision, and the only power that they had over me? Money? I could go out and make for myself. So I did.

So I left. It feels great to be able to be my own advocate.

I didn't notice any difference in myself, no. The differences were external, i.e. you've got to be responsible for yourself now, go to university, get a job, manage your money, pay your bills.

I changed more when my grandma died than any birthday has ever changed me.

Being 18 you are finally an adult and must take responsibility for your own actions.

    Being 18 changes nothing.
Except now you can vote and drive with a real license I guess and buy cigarettes and watch porn legally. But I don't care about those things, so it's nbd for me.

If you are turning 18 you can look forward to a long downhill decline ending in death. Have fun!

Haha, people won't treat you like any form of an adult until you're AT LEAST 25. Trust me. I still get shat on my other adults and I'm 21.

To me personally, turning eighteen really wasn't that special.

Other than voting and the death penalty? It feels really good when none of your paperwork requires a parent/guardian's approval. College was a big test for your responsibility. Something your parents don't tell you: responsibility feels GREAT. What sucks is 19 and 20. Nothing changes. When you're 21, that's when you get everything. Did you know you can't check into a hotel at age 18? That's pretty stupid in my opinion.

I'm not looking foward to becoming 18 at all because I won't be able to be with the girl I've fallen in love with anymore.

Actually if you are within a few years of eachother it is still acceptable legally.
ie An 18yo (adult) can go out with a 16yo (girl) quite legally.
But a 25yo wanting to go out with a 16 or 15 yo may be prosecuted.

So, unless your Gf is say under 13 (more than 5years apart) then all is ok.
You can confirm your personal laws to where you live on those government websites.

Know that the law is not going to break up your relationship. Don't let others fool you because you may still be naive and young yourself.

It means you become an adult, the first major step to independence and your own life. It's something worth celebrating.
