If i were not so used to firefox i would switch back to ie

...or maybe Google Chrome or something. Firefox has some interesting features that others don't have, but it uses memory like a shit and I hate it. I have IE and Chrome installed too and both of those seem to use less ridiculous amounts of memory but I still use crappy Firefox out of habit.

i wouldent uninstall ie, cause the system can crash. (apple safari on the mac may be the same way) i agree, both ie and apple safari suck. I personally love firefox, but i used to hate it cause it never ran right on my old computer. Its awesome and fast on my laptop.

IE is terrible. Uninstall it, it's not worth the hard drive space it uses. Chrome seems to be faster on my computer, Firefox has some very useful addons but does use a lot of RAM.

I use firefox, but only because there is an addon that makes it look like Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.

Actually Chrome uses WAY more memory than even firefox if you have a lot of tabs open, because each tab in Chrome is run as a separate process in the task manager.

Firefox does use quite a bit of memmory though. It uses about 200,000 K for me (if I have about 5 tabs open), but for some reason whenever my computer has been on for more than 24 hours, Firefox will start using 415,000 K of memory.

Anyway (and this is completely personal bias), I really hate Internet Explorer for five reasons.
1.) It crashes a lot on every computer I've ever used it on (Firefox has only ever crashed once on me)
2.) IE is much more vulnerable to attack sites
    3.) IE doesn't allow add-ons
4.) They don't follow all the standards set forth by the W3C, and it's not capable of interpreting a lot of HTML or CSS that other browsers can.
5.) It's so integrated into the operating system that removing it causes problems.

I heard Google Chrome tracks everything you do and logs it. I'm sure the others do too, but you know I've heard a lot of goof things about Firefox. I use both Firefox and IE. When Explorer fails (which is often), Firefox is always there! :)

I think IE is sh*t. Google Chrome is really slow on my computer for some reason. Firefox is just better for me. I t has a bunch of sweet add ons that I use. I think Chrome and IE suck d*ck!!

Chrome is new so I'm still having compatibility issues with it. Other than that I like it, but like alexis said, it randomly runs slowly for me. IE is just crap. It always has been and always will be. Firefox is where it's at. I mean yeah, it's a resource hog, but who cares? Do you really try to run a lot of other resource heavy programs while you're browsing the interwebs?
