If job makes me leave because sick can i get unemployment

I have severe periods. Usually they make me double over in pain and I just don't eat a couple of days. I bleed super heavy and I sometimes get headaches so severe I can't move for several hours. Occasionally I get so nauseated I vomit. I ended up vommiting at work and I can't go back work until I go to the doctor. But I unsure if urgent care gonna be able accept my insurance. If work refuses let me go back can I just get unemploymemt and till I find a new job?

That sucks I get really bad pain too though not every month luckily.
Have you been checked for endometriosis? It's not normal to have that much pain especially with every period, bleeding very heavily is abnormal also. You might require treatment.

Unemployment isnt anywhere near what you were making. You get a percentage depends on your state.

    • I got it for my last job and it paid me what I was making minus the overtime pay. Also I have two jobs right now. So ill still be able do my part time job. Also right now a lot of people making more than what they make on it.

In my state a guy got fired or something from part time loading at our company and he said his weekly unemployment paycheck was only $25. That was back in 2008 though and in a different state than you probably. When I went on short term disability last year it was even close to half of what I was making when I was working.

Look into it but I think you'll be surprised by the number you get. I hope I'm wrong.

I had really bad period issues and have been on birth control pills for years for it, so I no longer have any periods at all and life is so much better. You might want to discuss this with a doctor just to be sure that it's a good choice for you and that nothing serious is going on that needs attention, but I've been on BC for half of my life just because of this. If once you've found it's a good option for you, you can also get them online, which is what I do.

Have you looked into fibromyalgia? I recently read an article about it and how it’s so common but apparently hard to diagnose.

        • That literally has nothing to do with anything discussed. I did google it.

Why wouldn’t you be able to get a doctor’s note?

    • Since a lot of hospitals are so scared of corona they not permitting new patients without a corona test. A positive corona test takes 2-3 weeks and considering how short staffed that me being out 3 weeks means a person will be hired to replace me. So I might as well be fired or quit at that piont.

You need to get your doctor to qualify you under the federal FMLA. It provides for time off from work for chronic conditions. Your employer CANNOT fire you for taking FMLA time off. Do this asap.

    • Fire no, just not let me go back to work and if I not getting any money I am gonna be homeless very quickly. I already got laid off three times because stupid corona virus. Also I have no time to qualify for shit. I literally have three days. Unless I want to try burn up my 30 days of sick time I collected, which I doubt my company gonna honor without a doctor note.

Take medical leave to resolve this and if it's something you can't resolve quickly go on disability for 6 months or so WHILE you work out how to recover.

        • I not sure this qualifys as disability. Since the issue is more with work policy than anything else.

  • Try ibuprofen for pain and maybe an otc antiemetic like meclizine for nausea. Or maybe smoke some weed?

    • I don't really care. I already been dealing with this. The only reason I going doctor is to not lose job at work.

no you cant get unemployment until you get another job. You can't be fired either. just have your doctor give you medication for your bad periods.

    • I don't want medication for it. That would a waste of time.
