If my wife

Ive always had a mother and then wife to do things like washing clothes and doing the dishwasher, cooking, paying bills. What I've always been good at is making money. I was talking to this girl about how she washes her clothes a special way to preserve them and asked me how I did mine. I realized I have no idea I have never washed clothes before in my life. I dont know how to work a washing machine. She laughed and said that was terrible.

Anyway if something happened to my wife I wouldnt even know how to do anything but make money and fix stuff.

Nows a good time to start how to do laundry for most clothing.

It's never too late to learn.

You might also wish to learn how to cook eggs (with or without bacon) on the stove, and other things as well.

    Consider it necessary survival skills.

Also, get up some morning and make your wife breakfast.... and she will love it and you (even if its not cooked the best)...

I typically cook my wife breakfast (or brunch) about twice a week.... The rewards are awesome.

This is probably not a fair comparison but this reminds me some of the women in their 30-40s at my job at Target. Their husbands were actually smart about the divorce and barely left them with anything. Since they always had their parents and then husband paying for everything while they only did chores, they had no clue how to make it on their own. They complain about how they can't make rent meanwhile they're pissing away every penny they earn on things they don't need at Target. The 18 year olds do the exact same thing but that's supposed to be normal 18 year old behaviour that people grow out of, not stick with it until middle age.

Please don't be like them. Learn how to wash clothes, cook a meal, learn a new hobby. Being too dependent on someone might come back to haunt you.

    What a shame.
