Yes, and don't listen to idiots who say that you will put weight back on after because your body goes into starvation mode; frankly they listen to pseudoscience they don't understand.
It's important though to eat protien during that starving period.
Why?
Because while the body can break down protien into calories it's not reversible for fat into protien. So if you dont want your muscles to suffer the consequences of starvation, be sure to get at least some protien into the limited intake.
Your muscles won't suffer you'll just go into ketosis and your body will use your fat as the fuel source
Problem there buddy, is that you dont run just off of calories. Its fuel, yes, our body still loses resources just by existing. Repair Bill's get expensive, got to strip down your own muscles to give protien to blood, and brain.
Lloyd's right. You need proteins that are not contained in your body fat, or else you will die. If someone tried to live off of entirely fat, they would die due to a lack of protein. Would it cause problems in only five days? I doubt it. However, what Lloyd said is true.
Yes it works great for me and has worked great for my wife lately. She doesnt eat from 8am to 5pm but she goes to sleep by 9pm. So shes virtually eating only one healthy meal a day. She has lost 15 pounds now in less than a month. She also does the ecliptical. I also usually eat one or two meals a day through the week then just eat whatever I want on the weekends. Fasting not only works but its the easiest way to lose weight. After a week you will definitely see results and you stop getting hungry
10 pounds in 5 days? Maybe if you dehydrate yourself and not eat at all you could be 10 pounds lighter on the scale.
Realistically you can lose 3 pounds or so per week, 10 or 12 per month, in a way that is still healthy. You don't even have to exercise, just change your diet.
