If there is a God, any God, why are some born with things like down's syndrome and other debilitating diseases? Wouldn't any parent want 'his children' to be healthy and happy? Then why doesn't this all powerful God want 'his children' to be healthy and happy?

    If you read Genesis, you would know that God in fact created people perfect with no diseases or anomalies, but it was humans that fucked it up and brought a curse upon themselves.

      As a result, children get raped, murdered, forced in to war, die of disease, die of starvation, die of exposure, and are born with debilitating maladies. So we can all learn a lesson . . . Mhm, sure . . .

    if there was a god, he is only held accountable for creating a person's soul/spirit.
    The genetic aspects of people is the work of the parents.
    So, if there was a god, he creates the perfect soul for the inside... then the humans come and fuck up the rest.

    It's because of the curse placed upon the earth when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, that's where things like Down's syndrome come from. The good news is that salvation (Heaven) has been provided by all those who believe and put all their faith in Jesus Christ as savior and cease from trying to earn their salvation and having faith in themselves to save them, in Heaven there will be no more curse, no more sin, no more Down's syndrome, etc.
