Would you want to live forever?
Absolutely. I honestly can't comprehend those that wouldn't but whenever I've asked them this same question most say no. Baffles the mind.
Billions of people who long for immortality, but don't know what to do on a rainy sunday afternoon
I suggest that you ask the children and grand children of Henrietta Lacks; because she is the 1st human to have at least part of her become immortal.
If you don't know who or what I am talking about... Try reading a book that was on the New York Times best seller list for something like 6 years:
"The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by: Rebecca Skloot.
Totally fascinating book where truth is much stranger and exciting than fiction - and real world life and ethical questions exist (it took almost 11 years to research and write).
It was named "Book of the Year" by something like 60 different organizations ranging from science to humanities... and has a list of awards longer than any other book that I'm aware of.
Nah, I like going through the stages of life, I wouldn’t want to be stuck at 30 forever
If I could be reincarnated over and over again where I could meet my wife in a bunch of different lives that would be sweet
No. I would like to live for a really, really long time. But not actually forever.
I would choose Hitler, Idi Amin and Ghengas Khan to be immortal, for starters. That way they could be tortured for the rest of time, a living hell incase hell isnt real.
Yes in a heartbeat. Especially if my body didnt get old. If I got to keep my 30 years old body i would
As tempting as it is... slowly becoming more and more powerful, influential, building a business empire until I can fund my own space expedition in my own spaceship...
Witnessing everything humanity goes through and pondering over the past with a glass of whiskey in hand...
No, cause I would have to lose the people I love over and over again.
Yeah. That's what I thought.
You would be able to do so many amazing things, and learn so much about the universe, but I think your true happiness would always be found in other people, and it would be unbearable to watch them die. One lifetime of that is enough.
Yes definitely. Choosing not to is basically the same as choosing to die. And when people choose to die by attempting to commit suicide, we rightfully view them as mentally unstable and try to stop them. Why shouldn't it be the same for denying immortality?
Of course I could understand if we were immortal, but we were decrepit. Then denying immortality would be acceptable as a way to relieve sufferers of pain. But if we were fit and healthy there'd be no reason not to want to live forever.
So long as I stay young. If so then yes. See what happens could be quite fun.
No, but I’d like to transfer to another plane of existence from where I could watch what happens in the future.
Maybe if it was like wolverine's immortality. No blade, bullet, or disease could kill me, but if my head got chopped off then that's it. And eternal youth, don't wanna turn into a cricket
I'd probably try to do something noble with my life. Not sure what, but being immortal would help me accomplish a lot
