I guess it depends on the people in the relationship. It helps if you like different things. I quite like doing the laundry and I *love* cooking. Cooking isn't a chore, it's a pleasure. I don't mind doing the ironing and I'll take out the rubbish. Vacuuming the stairs is the one thing I hate. I don't know why. It just pisses me off.

In my last relationship, she started work before me so we got up together and while she showered and got ready, I made her breakfast and ironed a shirt for her. It's just common sense. Whatever works with schedules.

with us it depends on who has the most time on his or her hands to do it, to me this seems the most logical way to do it?

  • She does most everything. I'm lazy and all my girlfriends are the mothering type, suits me just fine.

It's the only time she's not in the kitchen.
She's definitely a good girl and a keeper.

I do it all usually once a week unless he's out of gym clothes or whatever. I swear he must wear at least outfits a day then it's all magically dirty but it works out.

Well, I don't live with my significant other but I imagine we would both do our own whenever we felt like it. I don't think there would be a designated laundry day or anything. If he was doing a load (of laundry) and I had an item of clothing that I needed washed, or vice versa, I'm sure the other would be able to throw in what they needed washed.

We share duties. My husband currently has more time available for laundry so he does more of it. But we take responsibility for our own clothes unless specifically asked. Hey, do me a favor and wash this? I also have a roommate who is more than willing to wash the shared linens when they get dirty.

Considering that I work more hours and do most of the cooking, billing and housework, he can do the laundry, and he does. He also does the dishes. Good deal.
