Is it normal are children really not allowed to play outside be creative

I hear all these news reports about parents being arrested for kids playing outside in their own yard. And that the kids are being turned into test robots at school.I don't have this problem and neither does anyone I know. Could the news be making this up? Has it just not hit my area? My kids play out all the time. so do most of the neighbourhood kids. The schools seem pretty good here so far.

Tons of kids are growing up while looking down at ipads and iphones all day. The reality is that most are allowed to play outside but would rather not.

it's because back in the day kids had friends who would come over to their house to ask them to play outside. these days kids would rather text their friends or play them on their xboxes, it's really sad.

In many communities, allowing children to leave their own yards without supervision is called "free range parenting". It is subject to fines. Repeated offenses will put your custody of your own kids in jeopardy.

Parents keep their children indoors in my neighborhood for some reason.
