It is normal that if I know someone IRL I socialize well, but when I text them things are awkward, and if I meet someone online and meet then IRL its awkward vice versa?

    I think because you are unable to process that they are same person in real and online.
    Imagining about the person reading your text and smiling helps in this situation.
    It's normal to feel awkward meeting your online friend in real.

    PS: I just realised I totally misunderstood your heading to mean you were asking if conversations on IIN are weird! Sorry, I see what you mean.

    Accept a bit of awkwardness and move on, it will probably go away fairly soon & you'll feel more comfortable: probably the other person is feeling the same, ever think of that?

    I don't see what the heading has to do with the content of your post, but anyway, of course that's an awkward situation because you're changing how you relate from distant to close.
