Is it normal for “tea-bagging” (assault) to be passed off as a joke
This happened in 2011 but I just remembered it last night.
On a residential trip in my secondary school one boy was “tea-bagged” in his sleep, meaning another boy placed his testicles in his open mouth. News of this spread through the school and the victim was a laughing stock, people would yell “tea bag!” at him between lessons. As far as I’m aware the boy who did it to him faced no social repercussions and the teachers just acted like nothing had happened.
Was it normal back then for male on male sexual assault to be viewed as a joke? For a victim to be shamed so publicly?
