A straight guy in college with a tea set spread out on a coffee table. He also has dolls but they're in a box.
You wouldn't think of the old samurai as being "suspiciously feminine" would you?
Reminds me of article I read the other day about kamikaze's during WW2. Tea ceremonies and all (apart from final sake) and frequently they would be given dolls (or thousand stitch banners) by the civilian hosts that often housed them.
My boyfriend collects dolls and has glass china tea sets(or whatever kind it's called). Nothing abnormal here.

No amount of straight maleness should prevent one from getting in touch with their feminine side. Plus tea is amazing.
