Is it normal for a 33 year old woman to wear a crop top t shirt to work?

Back when I started my job in 2006 and tried multiple times to wear them, I got yelled at and sent home.

The year is 2021 now and the new employees are wearing them with no consequences. I don't look 33, my abdominal area is pretty toned, and some of the friggin air conditioners haven't functioned properly since June.

Should I wear them? Most of my cargo work pants are low rise, so it would wind up showing more skin than the new people since the new people have high waisted "mom style" pants when they wear theirs. One of my supervisors gave it the OK, but I'm not so sure if its normal for a 33 year old to wear it. What do you think?

Nobody thinks 33 is old except kids and misogynists, wear what you want.

I agree with litelander to bring a spare top just incase though.

I think someone from the 1600s might think 33 is old 🤔

Lol it's not about your age, I'm just wondering what job let's you wear crop tops. I know you aren't a school teacher lol.

33 is a normal age to wear crop tops but not normal if you're working in a professional job

I can’t think of any scenario where you would need to have your belly button out in a work setting, a cooling t shirt can always do the job if you’re hot

Lifeguards, undercover agents, exotic dancers, and a variety of other occupations would have situations where it would be appropriate (if not required) to have more of the body exposed.

33 is still pretty young. Wear what makes you feel good. I wear jeans and a tank top everyday. Simple effective abd keeps my temp down. Techniclay we aren't supposed to have spaghetti straps but the freaking owner talked to me and didn't say smack about it so I don't think people really care anymore.

Its not appropriate to wear a crop top without high waisted jeans or shorts at work. When youre wearing high waisted you barely see any skin.

At work, if in doubt wardrobe-wise, look around you and copy what you see.

I think that you are being jealous and the real problem is not about if it's appropriate for women but "I really want to do it too and I need reassurance that I can".

Depends on the environment they are in. I've been propositioned by Ladies in very nice business clothing at business conferences to ladies wearing not much at all, if anything, in certain bars overseas with exotic dancers when I was in the US Navy and we traveled in a group for safety - and that's where most of the group wanted to go. I've also seen everything in between.

I always have turned them down, as using a prostitute has never been my thing; but, I've sure been approached more than enough in my life.

everyone should be able to wear what they want, not dictated by anyone. employer or government

Thats all fine and dandy, but in certain fields there needs to be modesty and or appropriate dress. Wearing a crop top to a major business deal may cost you the client if they do not find it pleasing. I dunno. Theres a time and place for everything.

what is the problem if the company allows others to wear crop tops, and does not see a problem with them, then why should she be any different
