Is it normal for a college instructor to say that they had a crush on students?

In college, I took a class two years ago with this one instructor. Ten months later, we were walking on campus in opposite directions and I overheard my former instructor say to her friend “Hey, it’s [my name]! I had a crush on him!” The instructor is 24 and I am 20. It seems obvious now, since she was always extremely enthusiastic when helping me and then the next quarter she was so nervous and I had the feeling that she wanted to talk to me, but we ended up having a few awkward situations where she would avoid me whenever we see each other on campus. I was just hardworking, kind and quiet in class; took the class seriously and did very well. The difference I think is that she noticed, since usually I’m too quiet for my instructors to even know my name. Is this normal and acceptable so that a little over a year now, I can take another class for my major with the same instructor? I liked and did very well in class the first time, but will I be a distraction thus I should pick a different section?

Thank you.

If you're instructor was that young and that close in age to you, yes, I think it's normal.

Is it fine that I take another class with her now that it has almost been two years since the last time I took her class?

Very normal. He's just at work.

It's just not common that would openly say it.
