Is it normal for a therapist to demand 7 days' cancellation notice, or you must pay?
I was considering this therapist but saw how long the cancellation notice was. It's usually 48 hrs tops.

If he thinks that no one can have an extenuating circumstance less than 7 days in advance, he doesn't know very much about people.
I’ve never seen a cancellation notice that early, and especially for a therapist that’s pretty nuts.
I can see those attending therapy being more likely to drop a last minute “I’m not coming” notice, but demanding it 7 days in advance is a bit ridiculous
What if you wanted to see the therapist because you have commitment issues?
Lol so many therapists think they're God's gift on earth and their time is so valuable it's worth $100s an hour, and this cancellation fee? Ridiculous. Don't go to this therapist, they likely have their head up their ass.
Ive never seen anything like that. For me its always been cancel 24 hours in advance or even just cancel the day prior before the office closes for the day. If it's someone working privately running their own business then they can make up those rules themselves though so if that's the case then it makes sense. There is no way knowing if you're gonna get sick 7 days in advance though so it's a very strange rule. I've even had to cancel the same day before because i've woken up sick even though I was fine the day prior, happened to me a few months ago I woke up with a pretty bad fever.
