Is it normal for an adult to be afraid of the dentist?

It has been a decade since I went to the dentist and I have an appointment coming up. I'm scared as hell. Especially since my teeth are so fucked.

Ask him to prescribe some Valium for you to take the day of the appointment, but will need to have someone else drive you. It's a strong sedative, and most dentists won't want to give it to you unless you have a ride. Also if you need to have work done try to get laughing gas in addition to Novacane.

Make a point to brush and floss regularly so you can keep your teeth in good health, and hopefully won't have many cavities in the future. Also I've been using a Sonicare electric toothbrush for years and I love it. Also don't forget to floss!

Normal. I wish I could have all mine ripped out and have those new implants put in, and be done with it.

I'm not afraid of the Dentist, as mine is very good. But, those ladies at the front desk that want hundreds of my hard earned dollars? They scare me to death!

Dentist usually want to put fillings in teeth that don't need them. Unethical bastards.
