Is it normal for my dog to be named 'beegan?'

Her real name is Nadya, but I call her "Beegan/Beeg." I do this because she is half-dachshund, and dachshunds just strike me as being beegish is some ways. It's just something about their weenie-shaped bodies and their pointy snouts.
