Is it normal for my manager to do this?

A little background: i've been working at these two different bars for a year now. i'm only 20, and i go to school full time. so i have this bar manager for one of my jobs... i hardly see him though, maybe once a week, because whenever i work, i work under my own management and the only other employee in the building is my barback and we just open up, get our shit done, and close up the bar ourselves once its time to go.
My manager has been texting me at random hours during the night and during the shift, and when im at work, and some things seem a bit redundant (he texts me things like "Dont forget to lock the doors" as if i havent closed the bar down by myself x100000 before), but sometimes at night he would drunk text me things like "hi" at 6am and would text me things like "i miss you".. and i would never respond but he never acknowledges it in person. It wasn't until recently that i ran into more serious problems... He asks me how school is going when i see him in person and i let him know my plans for christmas break so that i could go visit my family back home for vacation since i work this thanksgiving and i wont be able to see them. He then CASUALLY brought up if i would like to go to colorado with him for new years. i was awkward and caught off guard so my first reaction was to tell him that i was scheduled to work new years.. but then he laughed and said i wouldnt have to worry about that. i somehow went around the topic and managed to decline the offer so he seemed to drop it.. but then at 3am i got a text from him saying "Go to vegas with me for new years" with another text that immediately followed "i know crazy. should not have asked." I still have not responded, but i dont know what i should interpret from his actions, and what i should do about it. what do you think?
