Is it normal for my phone to do this?

Two days ago the screen on my samsung galaxy 3s flooded with lines of color which then faded to black within 3 seconds.

I was in the middle of Subway Surfers gettin my surf on!!!

Anyway since then when the screen goes off from being idle, it won't come back on.

I have to keep pushing the lock button on the side, at LEAST 10 times before the lock screen comes back on.

The touch buttons at the bottom light up regardless of the screen.

Now i havent downloaded any apps or been to weird websites since this started (except maybe pornhub) :p

I recently downloaded Avast which scanned my phone for malware but it was clean.
