Is it normal for over a year now i go to bed & wake up with a racing heart?

I try so hard to distract myself from anxiety by being really busy during the day.
Sadly, it doesn't always work and no matter what I do I feel it lurking. Night time can be the worst because that's all I have to focus on and it usually takes me ages to fall asleep and I wake up feeling terrible :(

is it normal ??

I don't know why I have/ feel like this but it scares me

I am quite a healthy eater and don't do drugs or take caffinated beverages. I have also cut down on sugar

Don't dick around with this. Go to another doctor, not the one that is giving you your prescriptions and tell them this. To me, although the advice given is excellent, it sounds a lot like low blood pressure. You mentioned in an earlier post that you're on blood pressure medication. I think you need the level of medication checked.
I too am on antidepressants and have found the right amount in the right type after a long time of trial and error. They are not all the same. And when on one brand ( I can't remember which) I had the same type of symptoms. In a nutshell it sounds to me like you need your meds quantified by a second opinion.

    Look into St. John's wort

Yep good stuff, except you have to be careful if you're taking any other medication because the wort can prevent them from working.

That's called anxiety and is also the cause of you not being able to sleep well in the first place.

If you can work out what you're so anxious about then you can work out what to do about it.

If you're a heavy smoker, that can interfere with getting to sleep because nicotine is a stimulant, as is coffee if you have too much or any late in the day. If you are a smoker, the anxiety first thing in the morning could well be withdrawals because your brain is low on nicotine.

Sometimes I drink green tea, but I can't tolerate coffee. I'm starting to feel like I can't eat too much chocolate, which sucks, because I love chocolate!

I have had that too. It was really awful when I didn't take my medications for like six weeks last year, but I did really want to exercise a lot though.

I guess, but I take a lot of shit. High blood pressure in addition to anxiety and depression is no fun.
