Is it normal for people to dislike alexander the great?

i just saw alexander the great with collin ferrell. great movie btw. looking back at alexander the great what do you think about his approach to meet his mission? outlook on how he viewed people? and overall leaderships. im inclined to believe that he would have been a great king in older age after he had son, and the wars stopped and people kind of could see the beauty in his mission. to me he was ahead of his time.people were not and probably are not ready yet for his idea of a free society without persecution of any kind. his leadership skills were pretty good but his fault was in age he was placed in power. the crown was almost thrusted on him barely after his father was killed infront of him. tell me what you think.

no its rumored that he had always loved his childhood freind Hephaestion and really i doubt after he claimed so many countries and lands that he had to work hard to get subjects to sleep with him. i dont really care about his orientation. the need for him to rape would almost be pointless with all his subjects thirsting after the power he controlled. i would say he was more of a workaholic than anything. he dreamed big for sure. maybe too big to conquer and rule the whole world and let races mix. that was probably a step too far for many to be ready to accept.

nah you got him wrong, he worked hard but partied like a pirate.

yeah maybe he felt inadequate after his mother's sexual abuse...raping men was to reclaim his masculinity.

Is it normal for people to Green Erik the RED?

even Erik the REd had loved ones, freinds and family. you dont establish whole colony on new lands with no love coming from the settlers your way at all. all his deeds may not have been good but does that take away the good he did accomplish? my answer may differ from yours. i say you have to take the good with the bad or the good may never have happened.

You know how he got the settlers to love him? he was a sex crazed bisexual, and everyone wanted a piece of him even his own mother...omg

and that is not even my point. once again right over the top of your f..in head. people who remotely at all like or loved him shows he did good in his life. maybe not to common standard but since when does the world need to have one standard of a good deed. besides even when you look at christianities take on it. god will do bad and good to even the most saintly of people.

those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. you would do well to learn to respect the mistakes of lessons that history can teach.

And you LEARN what, from a historically inaccurate bit of Hollywood entertainment?
You would do well to read a book or two to get your historical information, rather than watch Hollywood fiction, no matter how cute YOU think the lead actor is..

the movie introduces some to this man who may have caught their interest in deed or whatever way. you make it sound like all he did regardless is pointless bc he is a dead old guy. that is disrespectful. instead when you look at stories based on historical figures go ahead and judge just like the idiot pissing on all the comments "dragonfruit33" but learn from their mistakes. you just sound condescending. i warned you as a favor to you continued health and good luck. its a good skill to notice lessons of success and failure that happen a million years or a week ago. if not you may as well not get out of bed and make a million of the same old mistakes over and over again bc you are too lazy to take a moment out of you must be oh so important life and show some fucking respect to a man like him or hate that did something you probably cant even dream of doing in a hundred lifetimes. you and dragonfruit33 i noticed just like to come on to posts and be disrespectful and mess with people. well keep it up. if i keep seeing you and him or her harrassing my commentors you will be blocked and reported for trolling.

Oh, please. History may have many lessons to teach, but some Hollywood movie that is so historically inaccurate as to be a comedy, is not the place to learn them.
"i warned you as a favor to you continued health and good luck". Now, not only is this statement grammatically terrible, filled with spelling errors, it is also laughable in content. You are less of a danger to me than a mosquito. Of absolutely no more importance than the turd I dropped in the toilet this morning.
You think I "sound condescending", but I think you sound very young, stupid and really weird. Whether I respect Alexander or not, he certainly won't give a flying fuck; he has been dead for a couple of thousand years!
So go back to playing your video games and sucking your thumb, and stop making threats that are worth less than the energy necessary to type them.

because this site is full of weird stuff and people is weird and you can learn from them all the time even if they are dead and a legend...they still have a story to tell to get us through the day. Unless you are not spiritually inclined...then your ignorance on the path of the enlightened will be excused.

being a good human being is not a pre requisite for a good leader. you would know that if you paid attention to history.
