Is it normal for people to regaulaly get off their medication?

Medication for depression and anxiety. I take it and then have an urge to stop every single time...whenever I start feeling better I stop. I don't know why I do this it's not because I think "I'm OK now" because I know it will make me really angry and frustrated again.

Now, now... That's not what was prescribed now is it? You got to take your medication every day and withdraw from it safely under medical supervision.

I would taper off of it if you are determined to quit taking it.

The majority of people prescribed those drugs don't need them. Their on them because they go to the doctors and complain and the doctors gets paid to write them, so they write out a prescription for everything. This happened with penicillin years ago. Now there is resistant virus strains.

Yes, because we can't get the good drugs, and all they want to give us are the crappy ones with side effects.

I used to stop taking it periodically for the high (mania) of the withdrawal and because I still hated myself and felt it was a waste. Now I'm off completely because it wasn't really doing anything anymore. Doctors really don't give a shit, I told mine I was going to quit and he said not yet. Then next time I saw him I said I quit and he was like "ohh yeah I remember now, good job." Lol
