Is it normal for unemployment to take 2 months to approve you

I signed up over two months ago and they never got back to me. I gave up after 2 weeks and they keep saying I was approved but the money is on hold. My other friend who was working job I was and signed up recently and they approved them a week later. Even though they were fired since they could not make rate and I worked till the end of season and was dropped after season ended.

    That's government for you-- they can't do anything right.

      I just kind of in shock since they gave it to them but not me and they got fired. Why do they qualify?

      Australia has centrelink and I don't believe the usa has anything approaching it, flawed as it is. At least here we can get unemployment benefits without having worked for a certain length of time
