Is it normal for your dogs to all of a sudden start growling and staring at you

Okay, so i walked in my living room to get something to eat then all of a sudden I hear growling and thought one of my dogs was having a dream or something and they were growling in their dream...but I instead saw one of my dogs staring behind the cuch growling at me..I started petting one of my other dogs and she was staring at me...so i dismissed it and made food..and they all went to sleep then all of a sudden they woke up and started barking...so I turned the light off and looked outside because they were barking in that direction..there was nothing outside and when i turned the light on and they were in a corner staring at me growling.. has this happened to anyone else?

    Um detroitlove, did u happen to see the part where the OP said they were poodle/Lhasa apso mixed? I think that's pretty far from a pitbull or "guard dog". LoL!

    This is exactly why people like you should not own guard dogs. They are to be handled differently than other breeds or bloodlines of breeds. You probably ignored cues that your dog does not respect you for a while and now, they you are in a situation where a bite is not too far away and where do you go? Yup to this website for advice. I own and train highly aggressive guard dogs and they NEVER growl at me and i rarely every have to use a strong arm to discipline. I have fair but firl rules and it makes things clear to the dog as to what i expect. <BR><BR>Good luck but maybe you should own a cat... People like you are why breeds like pitt bulls have bad raps in the media. They just arent dogs that weak minded people should own. Everyone wants to treat dogs like children ( which is sad because would you allow your kid to posture aggressively towards you and ask if it were normal?)when they are not. Believe me, that growl that had you turning out lights and shit was fleeting to you but to the dog, he completely dominated you and corrected YOU for getting too close. I am sure you will excuse your little snafu to your pooch being quirky but lets see what happens when you take too long backing away from his meal next time and he draws blood... belive me, its coming. Enjoy.

    This happened once to my friend. It kept getting worse until finally her dog attacked her and almost bit off her lip. They eventually put her to sleep. Afterwards, they did an autopsy and found out she'd had a tumor in her brain. Poor thing :(

    Probably had a bad dream and one dog copied the behavior of tge other. I'm pretty sure that you're not a ghost. Don't be creeped.

    Don be creeped lol >.< it could just be a natural animal instinct i heard that if u stand still in the dark ur dog can think ur a tree , and with petting the other dog the one dog could hav been jelouse
