Is it normal i am always paranoid at night and i am unable to sleep?

I can't sleep properly since about a month. I am exteremely paranoid and it causes me to get up again and again and as a result can't sleep. There are no issues during the day. At night I am paranoid even with lights on. Went to psychiatrist he diagnosed me to find nothing wrong. What should I do..??

    • It don't do any good. Even with lights on I feel something is wrong whenever I close my eyes.

Do you have a dog or a cat to keep you company?

        • I wish I had but there would be nobody home to keep my pet company when I would be at work.

            • I would prefer a dog, but again, I don't want to leave him alone when I am at work.

Just because you are paranoid it does not mean that they are not after you.

  • Nothing out of normal days.
I feel kind of scared like something is not right. Right when I am about to fall asleep or start a dream I am wide awake feeling someone or something unwanted is inside my home. I can't go back to sleep even when my eyes burn.

What was happening in your life when this began? Think back and maybe you can resolve this and get some sleep.

More info on what you mean by being paranoid would help: do you mean you're scared, you think someone is going to get you in the night, or what?
