Is it normal i am nostalgic about retro videogames?

I am nearly addicted with old 8bit video games and I spend around 3 hours a day playing them. I have played newer games a lot too but I don't find anything else other than graphics to be better.

I have installed Nostalgia NES lite on my android phone and downloaded free rims from internet and keep playing them for hours.

is it normal to like old games more than the newer and bigger ones?

    I'm 24, my first system was the SNES. I get really nostalgic over the Donkey Kong Country trilogy. Donkey Kong was my frickin' childhood hero!

    California games, wonder boy, dig dug, double dragon, super hang on, duck hunt, blaster master, ghosts and goblins, 1942, ect. ect. While other kids were playing sport and learning musical instruments.

    Normal. I get nostalgic over old WWE video games and old Dragon Ball Z games. Also old Gameboy Color and Sega Genesis games.

    I played DDR yesterday XD. Not very retro but it's been 5 years since I last played. I felt like I was 16 again. They updated many of the games at the arcade to lame fancy touchscreen games. I was thoroughly disappointed at first but maybe it's just something that has to grow on you.

    what the fuck happened to game development and why werent this model followed?

    I have been recently, but I'm 22 so for me I'm getting nostalgic about the Dreamcast, as soon as shenmue 3 kickstarter was announced I've had the Dreamcast out playing shenmue again, sonic adventure, house of the dead, the nomad soul, skies of Arcadia, power stone, jet set radio,

    Although I've been thinking of looking for the nes, its in the attic somewhere and I wanted to play paperboy again, it was the first game I ever played

    I get really nostalgic about things like that, and get so stoked and have nostalgia-gasms when I download it, or whatever it is.
    But then play it for a few minutes and think "yeh...this is pretty crap" and get over it pretty quickly..haha
    So yes for nostalgia, but I can't relate to the "hours"...
