Agreed. Some people take small things like this way too seriously.
Technically, whether or not you know them doesn't change the fact that bacteria is still being passed, but at the same time, bacteria is there regardless. Double dipping most likely isn't going to kill anybody.
When I was a kid I had to stretch my allowance as far as I could. I discovered that instead of buying a double dip ice cream cone for 10 cents I would get a little bit more ice cream in two nickel cones, plus I got the extra cone besides.
It wasn't uncommon to see me walking down the street alternately licking an ice cream cone in each hand.
