Is it normal i annoyed by birthdays?

My family makes a big deal about birthdays. Normally I am okay with this but I am not anymore. Right now I cant find a job and its very frustrating. I dont care about celebrating pretending everything is okay when everyone knows it not. Why would I want more garbage I dont need, instead of getting out of the struggle I am currently in? Paradise is only for a day, I think a paycheck makes more sense.

    That statement would only make sense if you had choose between celebrating your birthday or getting a job. But celebrating your birthday would not stop you from looking for a job so that isn't really the case. I also don't think celebrating your birthday is pretending that everything is ok. All that being said, if you really don't want to celebrate, tell them.
