Is it normal i bought a pair of ears made with deer fur?

I ordered them online. They were slightly more expensive, but looked nicer than the fake fur ones. I don't know if they find the deer dead or kill them, shave their fur or what. They're so soft though and smell like the taxidermy raccoon I sniffed as a kid.
