Is it normal i cant figure out what do with pet in military
So you see I am single, 22 and I dont really have much of a life. I dont trust giving my cat up to the shelter though since I know that shelters kill a lot of them. Apparently animal control kills a good number of animals compared to how many they save too and I find this all the result of humanities arrogance. Since you know animals are meant only to serve us and if not we should just slaughter them. I find that really fucked up.
Anyways! before I got into a rant about ANIMAL RIGHTS HERE IS THE ISSUE. I signing up to join the military and well basically am on the verge of being homeless. I just lost my seasonal job and based on the fact unemployment will only pay like 50% of my income(and im already on poverty level).
It looks like my paperwork is looking good and I might actually be able to get in if I pass meps. Which I dont have anything majorly wrong with me at the moment. Other than my crap vision. So I have a pet you see. I not sure what to do with him. I dont envision myself finding a lover anytime soon. Since I am just not sexually interested in other people at all. My initial plan was to join a few years, get out, move to Canada, go to college in Canada, get a job in Canada and than bring my pet with me.
As a single person even if I manage to get OFF BASE housing, I will have no one to care for him while I am away. I wanted to leave it with my mother but she said she will only care for him for a short while, when I am at boot camp. I dont want to get rid of him but no one else is willing to care for my animal and most people I know are horribly allergic to animal dander. So they would basically die being around animals.
I have 2 grandmothers who love cats and even feed the neighborhood cats but they dont want to take care of the cat either. I do love my cat, but I am not going to be able to care for him if I am homeless anyways. What should I do about this dilemma? Whats worse is he is a black cat. WHICH IS HORRIBLE! Not that I dont like the color black, but BLACK CATS are the most common type of cat, so those are the type of cats that are often used for lab experiments to test new drugs. By this time I probobly sound like a total animal activist.
