Is it normal i chew up food for my animals since they can not eat big pieces?

My animals are small even the dog is. So they can not eat things like hotdogs and bigger food unless you break it into small pieces. So I usually just chew it up and spit it on a plate and they eat it.

I have my animals chew my food for me, since I cannot eat big pieces.

First, get a knife and cut the food up. Second, your dog shouldn't be eating hotdogs.

Normal. I have two senior dogs (one is 12 years old the other is 13) and I sometimes have to chew off smaller pieces of food for them because they're missing teeth and its easier for them to digest. Inuit mother's used to chew up raw caribou meat and feed it to their babies, you're just being a caring owner.

I'll vote normal. I used to do this for my chickens when giving them treats that were too big for their small beaks.

I actually think this is adorable. :3 You really care for your animals.

I sometimes do this for my cat, when she begs for some of my food at dinner time, I bite off a small piece of meat and give it to her.

Umm for a normal, healthy dog? No....even if it's small, hot dogs shouldn't even be that hard for a doggie to break down for itself.... But if it really wasn't able to couldn't you just do that for it with a knife?

    • The small dog can not chew big pieces since its mouth is too small. We usually have to by smaller dog food as well.

I'll be impressed when you can do this for a cow.
