Is it normal i cringe when somebody refers to a pet as their "fur baby"
I just find it off-putting and weird. Sure, people love their pets. But the term "fur baby" is just odd to me.

Worst is this facebook dog group I'm in, where they refer to their children as "skin pups".
No.
I mean, I don't see anything wrong with it - it's funny. I don't support treating pets as kids though, that's weird.
But that is what they are? They are furry babies. Animals keep the mentality of children because of how we domesticate them. In the wild the parents drop them off to fend for themselves near adult hood. In human society we find them needing us cute so we keep them as babies forever.
Agreed, I just refer to them as babies or my sons. They are not animals to me.
Agree.
I firmly believe that all animals should be treated with respect, but they are NOT little humans in fur coats.
Yeah, it's dumb. I also find it dumb when people call their pets their children's siblings. That's not your child's brother or sister, it's a dang animal. XD
One time at work we had a lady try to bring her cat into the restaurant in a stroller.
That's animal cruelty in my book.
There are a few cats that are so chill that they wouldn't mind being taken out like that, but domestic cats are instinctively solitary territorial animals, and hauling them to new places is generally pretty stressful for them.
This is something the woman was doing for her benefit, not the cat's, and therefore it's messed up.
Pets should not be treated as humans, or they will start to think they are human and equal to you. They start developing an attitude. It's not good.
Never agreed with it. But I see my animal as my partner not a bloody baby.
