      OP is off course of course, but it could be coarse of course. Maybe they ate sand as a first course and found it coarse.

    I hate when I go to the beach and sand gets on my ass. Or when a wave hits me and I end up getting sand in my nose.

          Showers do essentially nothing! I mean yes, 99.9% of the sand is gone after the first shower, but you will always find some remaining stragglers in the next showers to come. (And in all your stuff too)
