Is it normal i don't cry about real life matters, or when people die but...

I tear up during some movies? I never really cry because the tears never fall because I'm used to sucking them back in as it would be embarrassing if someone noticed me.

For example I was rewatching Cast Away and the Wilson scene always gets me.

it's not good to hold in tears. if you do that it has bad consequences to your mental health and being. maybe this is why males tend to be assholes more than women.

    • LOL that was such a random theory with a spiteful cherry on top. I quite enjoyed it

        it's not a theory. it's psychology.

If you feel the need to cry and situation allows it, cry. Refusal to cry can cause health issues.

Hmm. So you wouldn't cry even if someone who you care abour would die?

    • To be honest no one I cared about has died yet. Relatives live in another country and grandparents died when I was very little. No friend has died yet.

I see what you're getting at. But I just assume I won't cry if even a family member died.

I have difficulty feeling for people outside of my closest family members, but the other day I was thinking about Madoka Magica and it made me feel really, really sad inside. I was feeling especially bad for Homura.

I feel like a really stupid person for feeling sympathy for fictional characters when there are actual people who are hurting in the world.

Mmmm I can relate. I get easily emotional when watching movies. Much more than in real life situations except when it concerns my family (mum, dad, sisters and brothers).

I'm very very close to my family. Love them like crazy. I call my mum every single day and my sisters live in another country but we call a lot. I worry about them when they are in difficulties. What I mean is that I don't worry for other people except MY people. I don't even consider aunts and cousins as real family.
