Is it normal i don't feel mature enough to read captain underpants?

I just feel like maybe I have not reached a level of maturity to read that series. I can read at a decent level though.

I saw one of the books called "Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 1: The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets" and read a few pages.

It was a little intimidating for someone like me who hasn't reached a level of understanding to grasp the advanced concepts in such a fine work of writing.

Should I go ahead and read those books to maybe advance my intelligence or start with something simpler?

    I think you should. Dont watch the movie though it's for children. They added all types of gags ruining the sophistication of captain underpants. I enjoy it while drinking some wine with Mozart playing softly
