Is it normal i don't understand people's obsession with their pets.?

We've had pets in my family before, but we never considered them to be more than animals, they weren't part of the family, they were pets, we weren't their parents we were their masters.

We would never spend a fortune to pay for animal cancer treatment, or gourmet pet chow, or anything like that, If the pet needed treatment or was in pain, or bit one of us, we would take them out back and shoot them. Then we'd just get a new one and that'd be the end of it.

I guess so, it just makes me sad, cause animals bring me so much joy. My kitty is doing quite well, he's just as sweet as ever. He literally just jumped up on me!

Thats true thats how alot of farm ppl do things its just the way they live and thats ok to. Rural life is harder than ppl that never had to do it think it is so I get it my grandparents had a farm and thats what they did.

I love all animals, not just pets. People could learn so much if they understood animals more...the ability to exist in harmony with an entire ecosystem, even as an apex predator...the existence of otherwise undiscovered ecosystems independent of sunlight...It's quite beautiful. Animals are better than people; they don't shit where they eat.

    (And no, I'm not vegetarian)

    MEOW!

I love animals to love to watch the squirrels playing in the neighborhood. And animals are a lot smarter than many ppl think they are. But I'm probly bias cos I am a vegan. :)

Glad to see you on here cos I wanted to send you a message but couldn't find you. You helped me more than you probly know. Thank you.

If ever you need to talk feel free to message me any time. I hope your time on this site isn't getting you down; it can be a little destructive and discouraging and judgey, but you're a feisty bitch. I'm sure you can handle it, but if you ever really need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me. I'm busy, but I do check in.

I hope you're doing ok with everything. You're smarter than you give yourself credit for.

I grew up with brothers...hence the swearing.

And stop being vegan. That's a total ana safety net. It allows you to wilfully refuse meals. There are plenty of range free options available, which gets you around the animal cruelty issue.

I was veggie for 10 years, considering vegan, so I know the diet options. You're an over exerciser and you need protein. At least consider egg whites- they're very low cal and make an excellent meal with sautéed veg. If you're going to calorie restrict, please stop wasting your intake on alcohol and have a good meal.

Egg whites, mushrooms, leeks, tomato, spinach, sweet potato.

Also, learn how to cook soup. Low cal, filling, and nourishing.

I do not support your eating disorder, but if you are going to restrict your calories please use them wisely...you need potassium to live (and not faint- low potassium =heart arrhythmia and possible death), you need protein, you need vitamins. Take a vitamin supplement.

Avoid sugary foods and alcohol. Make sure every bit of food you do eat is nutritionally viable, and try to binge with nutritious foods.

            Try not to die...

Sorry. I didn't see this until right meow.

I wouldn't pay attention to your votes, up or down. It will just drive you crazy. There's no need to focus on what other people here think about what you have to say. Many of the people here are fucking loony, crazy-paths with severe problems...it's probably a good sign if they disagree with you across the board.

The only reason down-voting should matter is if it restricts your ability to make comments; that should take a lot of down-votes unless you're new. The truth is, down-votes don't matter, not at all.

If your comments are being limited, use the "feedback" thingy on the main page and tell them you're getting unfairly down voted and trolled.

Otherwise, chin-up. It doesn't matter one bit. Don't let a couple of fucking losers with no life on an internet site get to you. I know sometimes my problems make me over sensitive, but it would be a very very bad idea to start caring about what people here think of you. Whilst there are people here whom I respect, who's opinions I do value, this site is 99% destructive, and I would not recommend taking the things said here to heart.

I'll try to use my 1 up-vote to cancel out your downies when I can.

Its just unfortunate that it gets my comments hidden so they get the power to virtually censor me I know ppl can still view hidden comments but who does that?

But anyway its done again hopefully for awhile becos it gets old having to see yourself saying obnoxious things and its not you. Its hard to believe that ppl don't have anything better to do than try to silence someone like me I'm nobody I'm not important and if I disappeared tomorrow only a very small handful of ppl would even notice but only until the next distraction.

And about distractions I might not be on here much for a while after the next few days. My long distance BFF Tatyana (татьяна) from Russia is coming to visit me. I'm all double fingers crossed that I can get her a job where I work so we can get her a work visa and she can stay for awhile. I'm so happy about seeing her in person and not just text and occasional skype.

So thats whats up for anyone reading this and thinking my posts were more sentimental or perky the last couple days.

A lot of people cherish their pets. Maybe you were raised to think of them as tools or expendables. I love my pets and I think they have spirits of their own. Pets would give their lives for you so you should spoil them a bit and give them great lives.

I agree people these days treat pets LITERALLY like Kings and Queens. Much better than their own kids or other humans

Its almost like they have become some kind of hypnotized slaves to these animals...mainly dogs. This one chick I know tends to her dog better than any slave would to a master. The dog makes a peep and she jumps up DAY or NIGHT [11pm, 12am, 2am, 3am, 5am etc] and caters to this dogs needs. I don't know anyone who would do that to even their own flesh and blood child.
