Is it normal i dont like christmas anymore

Its just stressful I feel anxious about needing to find good gifts for weeks afterwards plus it never fucking ends and just goes on for days. Other holidays are annoying too because you have to socialize and pretend to be happy all the time but none are even close to as stressful as christmas.

Christmas is the same thing every year, that's why I am always Scrooge

I hated Christmas until I had kids. It's good now because I see it through their eyes and try and give them a really good experience.

I think Christmas is for kids. Most people start to dislike it or at least become fairly indifferent once they hit their teens and then continue this into adulthood.

    • Yeah christmas with kids is much more fun plus its fun to buy gifts for them and much easier then for adults.

The only thing that ruins it for me is trying to think of presents for everyone, I start stressing about that from September. Other than that I absolutely love Christmas, it's just a great excuse to chill out and binge on food and just feel great about doing it because it's Christmas. But as much as I love it, I'm at the point where I don't think the stress of christmas shopping is worth it anymore.

It's because you don't know the true meaning of Christmas.

Pagans cannot know the true meaning of Christmas.

  • Christmas loses that childhood magic as we get older for sure. Sadly it’s become a drawn out exercise in consumer excess and greed for many. The true meaning seems lost to them.

Others feel an obligation to spend time with family they otherwise rarely see; whilst the least fortunate experience a heightened sense of loneliness because they don’t have anyone.

For my wife and I it’s become about the little things. Doing a good deed however small like letting someone with less items go before you when buying groceries. Stuff like that becomes addictive when you see people’s surprised reactions. Watching A Christmas Carol aka Scrooge on Christmas eve with a glass of your favourite booze. Taking a pride in decorating your home with thrifted unique ornaments (my wife loves this). Listening to seasonal songs whilst you cook the dinner, and being thankful for a good meal. Seeing a loved one’s face light up when you’ve put that extra special thought into a gift.

That’s the magic stuff for us.

It’s the season of peace and goodwill to all men and women.

  • Yeah that's true. I sometimes come up with random gift ideas throughout the year to fall back on in case I don't find anything while last minute shopping on amazon.
