Is it normal i feel we should not send money/resources to third world countries

I feel that all of the support, both monetary and otherwise send to third world countries are wasted, is this normal? While I do not wish to see anyone suffering for the sake of suffering, I feel the resources spent are wasted. Immediate support is not a long term solution if they are not willing to learn and progress. Education is key, areas that have been given resources such as wells and taught how to maintain them have not done so, leaving them in the same position they started in. If you live in a mud hut and walk 20 miles a day to get a bucket of water.. move your damn mud hut closer! If you don't want your children to suffer, or can't raise them without western support, don't have kids until your situation changes. Opinions guys and gals. Thanks :)

Give them all vacectomies and tubals. The biggest problem is the expanding population. We send food and aid and that allows the ones that would have died to survive and have more children.

And fuck the Catholic Church if they don't like it.

Yes, screw them. It's their own fault (not our problem) that they're fucked up. Either recolonize them or let them sort out their own shit!

And this is why we don't have a direct democracy!

These nations can reach prosperity by industrialising, allowing foreign investment to benefit from the supply of cheap labour.
I do support giving low/no interest loans with services like CARE's lendwithcare that help the growing middle class there directly.

I'm sure the corrupt governments taking most of the money has no bearing on anything.

The situation isn't so simple. If it was, it would no longer exist. Got it?

Most charities are thieving shit holes. What I plan to do if I get rich is fly over there and make direct changes myself.

The problem with our help in Africa is that we are now allowing more women to reach sexual maturity. They are not educated about birth control, so becoming pregnant is imminent. The more children they are bringing into this world the more support they will need.

What Africans need are more safe sex methods and more education. Yes, food and water help of course, but that will not slow their birth rate. The sooner we start educating the third world about contraceptive methods, the sooner we can actually help. Right now the cycle is: give food, water and/or medicine to them, more men and women reach sexual maturity, more of them have children, more children = more poverty as we already have a hard enough time sustaining their current population.

Good thing for a whole bunch of starving people on this planet, those who make those kinds of decisions do not agree with you.
