Is it normal i genrally advise people not to go to therapy

I do in some cases if it's something severe enough. However I generally find the way diagnoses is handled not very useful. It seems a lot of times doctors are more judgemental, apposed to being objective. They seem quick to write someone up after five minutes of discussion. Either this is lazy, or clear idiocy. Making a diagnosis for mental illness should be the same as diagnosing heart disease.

There are many different types of therapy, many don't diagnose you at all and are just there to help you talk stuff through ..
I do agree however that many doctors are too quick to diagnose and prescribe meds when they actually have no clue what is going on ..
Most doctors actually have grandiose delusions themselves ..

I think it depends on the person and situation too. Last year I had to see three different doctors for the same problem. The first doc wanted to send me home that day with no solution. The second doc went in depth with tests and consulted with a third doctor, and the third doc found a solution. After five days in the hospital I finally got to go home a happy puppy dog with my tail wagging again.

I would never advise someone not to go to therapy.

Some people really need therapy, some of us are definitely not normal, and in need of help. A person could be attractive, intelligent, funny and seem to have a great personality on the outside, but suffering terribly from depression, anxiety, insomnia, Borderline personality disorder, OCD and be suicidal on the inside.
