Is it normal i hate arrogant people this much?

I know I'm not alone in hating know-it-alls and goody-two-shoes. Their over-confidence in themselves is always misplaced and makes them obnoxious to be around. Is it normal I hate them enough that I fantasize about seeing them taken down a peg or two. I want to see them being forced to face the truth about themselves, that they're not nearly as grand as they think they are. Arrogant people are tyrants with their air of superiority, whether they use humble braggery or more assertive means to enforce it. And I want to see those tyrants lose face, be humiliated, and beg for forgiveness.

Am I a freak or what?

Arrogant people will be taken down a peg. Life will most likely take them down a peg; it's almost an inevitability,

    • My father is in his late sixties and Life has never taken him down a peg.

So you hate people who behave themselves? I guess you thought it would be cooler to have a 30 year jail sentence you can brag to your friends about. Behaving yourself does not mean you are automatically arrogant it just means you behave.

  • I feel this way about religious people. I saw a post on here once, some guy asking what proof atheists have that god doesn't exsist? I felt like I was being punked. What proof do we have that god doesn't exsist? How's about science, evolution, every single fact in every single science text book and the fact that nobody has ever seen, heard or touched any kind of god? What proof do religious dumbasses have that god DOES exsist? Oh wait, that's right, they don't. I feel like the religious are incredibly arrogant and that they're only nice because the bible says you'll go to hell if you're not. A decent atheist (and I'm not saying all are) is decent because they're a decent person, not because they're afraid of rotting in hell when they die. Religious people make me sick. Muslims think christians are wrong and christians think jews are wrong and jews think catholics are wrong in the mean time they're all buying into the same. Old. Shit.

    • I see what you're saying. Also, sometimes non-religious people are arrogant too, particularly when they assert their opinions about religion and those who are religious.

If people with confidence make you feel this way maybe you have the problem for some people the confidence you speak of is a front or a defense mechanism but for some they truly are that confident and hopefully they have earned the right to be that way. If you want them taken down a peg why don't you do it? Or do you lack the ability to do so?

    • Why? That would be because my dad is a severe narcissist with a volatile temper. It was debilitating growing up under his tyrannical rule. He's out of my life for good now, but seeing those same qualities he possesses in other people is upsetting to me.

Confidence is healthy but only when it's tempered with humility. I appreciate that. The people I feel hatred toward show very little humility, if any at all, and are notorious for being unnecessarily critical of others.

Arrogant people will always lose face why do you even care? It's inevitable karma will smack them because they assume they know more than they do resulting in failure.

    • I don't believe in Karma. It's a religious concept and I'm neither religious nor superstitious.
