Is it normal i leave the door open when i shower?

I don't understand why people shower with the door closed and never did. In my family's home, we have curtains and curtains are there for a reason. What's the point of curtains if you close the door too? That's so stupid to me. You're also shutting off the bathroom and preventing anyone else from using it so if my dad needs to shave, he comes in and shaves. If my kid brother needs to use the toilet, he uses the toilet. My other family think it's weird. My grandmother says it's perverted and my aunt says we have doors for a reason BUT WE ALSO HAVE CURTAINS!

Am I wrong in this/is it normal to feel this way??

    My family and myself shower with the door open and bathroom window open. Cuz my mom will freak out if we don't. She's paranoid of mold growing on the ceiling from all the warmth and moisture.

    I don't know, but I will guess that its the feeling of a secure environment. curtains will give you privacy but curtains can be opened. a locked door can't.

    I can't remember ever shutting the door to shower. I didn't want steam in the room while I was drying with the towel. My family didn't mind. We only had one bathroom for the 4 of us, and it was common for someone else to come in to use the sink or toilet while someone else was in the shower. It was never a big deal if mom or sis saw me undressed.

    I leave all the doors open on the inside of my house, but that's because it's just me and my Siamese cat. If I shut the door my cat just opens it and saunters in the bathroom cause that's how he rolls.

    It's not "perverted" to leave the door open but it is disrespectful to anyone who's sharing the house who doesn't normally see your naked body on a regular basis (like a spouse), especially if they're of the opposite gender.

    It sound like a good idea. My boyfriend showers with the door open and I'm able to run into the bathroom and take a shit whenever I please!! He tells me not to flush the toilet but I do it anyway and the water scorches him.

    Here I was assuming that you were doing this for health reasons.... You had me under false pretences!

    Do you change/get nude inside of the shower? Otherwise, if you're doing it outside with the door open, you are defeating your own argument.

      I leave my clothes in my room then I wrap a towel around me and hang it outside the shower. When I'm done, I take the towel and wrap it around me and just go back to my room and change.
