Is it normal i let the bugs bite me?

I live in the swamps of the usa. Down south where it is 90 degrees and 95 percent humidity every day now until November if i am lucky. Any hoo, I just let the mosquitoes bite me, i dont give af any more. Unless there is an outbreak of west Nile idc. Does this make me a slob? My legs have bites on them but i see it as inevitable practically. I'm not going to spray shit on myself that doesn't smell good. Any one else stop caring about the bugs and just let them have at it? Eventually I will get immune I reckon.

Wouldn't you eventually become anemic from this and also ave permanent pock marks on the skin? It's not normal.

Does anyone ever stop reacting to mosquito bites?

I've been a beekeeper for about ten years now, and bee-stings are an inevitable part of the hobby. The first few times I got stung, it hurt like hell, swelled up a ridiculous amount (a sting on the back of my hand meant I couldn't bend my fingers properly for about two weeks), and I then had about a week of it itching like hell as the swelling went down. But the more I've been stung, the less I've reacted. Last week, I got stung on my ankle and one of my fingers. It still hurt at the time, but two hours later I wasn't even certain exactly where I'd been zapped.

I don't know if the mechanism that causes a mosquito bite to itch is the same as what makes a bee sting swell, but I suppose it would make sense that your body would eventually figure out how to deal with the foreign substance injected by the mosquito.

The itch is from the anticoagulant the mosquito spits into the wound. I guess technically, you could get used to that, but you would still get red bumps from the injection site.

You can't become immune to a mosquito injecting razors into you and shredding your flesh and then spitting into it for blood. They will always leave marks.

I used aromatherapy oils to keep the bugs off of me when I was living in Kingwood, Texas.
