Is it normal i like animals but don’t like having pets?
I would be totally fine petting and playing with a dog or cat but I can’t stand having to look after one all day and being entirely responsible for their wellbeing.

I like "disposable" pets. They are like short-mid term pets that I dont expect to last for long and that's ok. They are also petty enough animals where theres not a strong bond to them as a pet.
That may sound psychotic... there was a time where I was living in an extended hotel in a new area. I didnt have any social ins so I was extremely lonely and depressed. I wanted companionship with anything but didnt want the burden of a pet when my living conditions changed. So I got a pet fancy mouse. It was fun having company of something. After it was decided where I would live there was no room for any kind of pet. So I let it go into the wild. Sure it the mouse may of lasted at best a day or two but it at least fed another animal along the way.
Its normal to like animals, I love dogs even though I don't own one.
Have you considered to look into an animal shelter?
Pets are a waste of time and money. People only have them because they like the idea of having complete control over a small and helpless animal. Your pet doesn’t love you, it just loves getting treats and food.
You seem to have a lot of trouble distinguishing between what you personally think and what "people" think, Donald.
That is true in some cases but not all. It is true animals tend to bond with the one who feeds them walks them pets them etc. But then again even in our own species that's the case. We love our parents because they feed us, clothe us. Walk us (take us places) we are animals. Just uglier. We are all equal we are all the same. Humans just happened to get some biological advantages over our brethren. Thats the only thing that separates us.
Nothing wrong with that. Pets are messy and time-consuming. If I'm gonna spend my time nurturing something it ain't gonna be a snooty lazy shit lounging on the couch all day leaving hairs everywhere.
Totally normal, I’m like that with kids. I love my little brother and wouldn’t mind looking after him for a couple days but having my own kid sounds like a nightmare. I like having time to myself and once you have any kind of living being to look after, pet or human, you sacrifice a lot of that.
