Is it normal i love checking out r/childfree?

I recently joined Reddit solely to look through this subreddit. I’m not even pestered THAT much by my family to have children, but I’m pretty adamant that I don’t want to, and it feels great knowing a sizable community agrees. It’s also refreshing seeing how insane some people are about it, it makes the ones I’ve encountered seem normal by comparison (but only by comparison. I’m not sure I’ll ever understand the people who so hostile to childfree people, and for whatever reason I love reading about their crazy responses!)

It is uneconomical to have children in most areas. Germany and Japan have figured that out. I say depending on your life goals, that should determine if reproducing is right for you or not.

Nothing but support here. Reproduction is overrated and vastly unhelpful to our current circumstances as a species. No one should feel obligated to bring another consumption/waste machine into the world and devote 18-25 years of their life to making sure it doesn’t crack its head on something.
