Is it normal i'm afraid of being arrested for being old?

I'm 25, when I'm walking outside I feel I might get arrested and sent to prison for being old.

I feel I am not allowed to talk with people even just 1 year younger than me, because that might be socially unacceptable.

I feel that we old people are like worthless garbage on its way to the dump, just to be forgotten forever... It's like the world now belongs to the young people by whom we are scorned, our game is over...

Ha Ha at nearly 71 I wish I were as "old" as you are! But not with your brain, which doesn't seem to be functioning properly.

You have figured out at a young age that getting old is no damn fun. Now figure out how to have fun before you get too old to have any.

I figured out that I missed my youth. I did the opposite of what was socially accepted on purpose thinking that anti-conformism will get me anywhere. Now I realize it was so stupid and I just wasted years of experiences and opportunities that probably won't return.

Now when I realized how idiotic it was and actually want to do something with it to stop wasting time and opportunities, people tell me I'm too old to try to do what I haven't during those lost years.

        Dramatize much?

What's idiotic is thinking that any significant options in your life have been closed off by you reaching the grand old age of 25.

If you're not happy with your life, figure out how to change it. Dwelling on how life has passed you by at your age is doing precisely what you claim to regret: wasting time and opportunities.

You're quite simply wrong. You're fairly young and in the prime of your life. You can't be arrested for being any age. You can talk to anyone you want.

I agree. To feel old at age 25?, I'm sorry I don't understand. And it sounds like you're being paranoid about being arrested. No one is going to arrest you just for your age or just for talking to someone, unless you say something very stupid. Unless you've said or done something stupid and illegal, which it sounds like you have not done because you're worrying about being arrested just for your age. Stop worrying. You should be feeling better.

Trust me. 25 is NOT old and no you won't get arrested for talking to anyone over 18.

Don't worry, you won't get arrested for your age. You won't get arrested even if you are like 120 years old. If you're really that old you'll only be congratulated for living so long.

I hope I can stay as young as I am now forever. I don't ever want to turn 25 XD

I know it's all relative--but generally speaking, 25 is not old to most people! With a life expectancy these days reaching into the 80s, you are around 25% into your life! But, even if you were quite a bit older, let's say you WERE in your 80s, you can talk to whomever you want, older, younger, same age, etc.

How long have you had this fear of being punished for talking to people? That seems like a very irrational fear!

I myself just turned 40, and that felt strange--40 sounds so old and "responsible" but I basically feel the same as I did in my late 20s. (They say that when you are around 27 is when you fully develop your personality and values, and those remain stable for the rest of your life, unless you undergo some unusual circumstances). My mother just turned 70, and she said it did feel strange for her to think of herself as being 70, because that sounds so old! And my mother looks very young, dresses stylishly, is quite pretty, and loves being silly. Our culture DOES seem to favor youthfulness over age, but the fact is EVERYONE gets older, and there's no escaping the aging process! Just enjoy your life no matter what your age.
